Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 jalapen pepper, chopped
  • 2 teaspoon chopped fresh onion
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped cilantro
  • 1/8 teaspoons salt & pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns, split
  • 4 romaine lettuce leaves
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced

Directions

Combine ground beef, jalapeno pepper, chopped onion, cilantro, salt and black pepper in large bowl, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Lightly shape into four 1/2-inch thick patties.

Place patties on grid over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, uncovered, 11 to 13 minutes to medium (160°F) doneness, until not pink in center and juices show no pink color, turning occasionally.

Line bottom of each bun with lettuce leaf; top with burger, tomato, avocado and sliced onion. Close sandwiches.B

Cook's Tip: To prepare on gas grill, preheat grill according to manufacturer's directions for medium heat. Grill patties, covered, 7 to 8 minutes to medium (160'°F) doneness, until not pink in center and juices show no pink color, turning occasionally.
