NMBC Beef Grant Program

DEADLINE TO APPLY IS OCTOBER 31, 2025

New Mexico Beef Council offers a grant program for New Mexico high schools who provide coursework covering subjects such as culinary arts, food preparation, nutrition, and food science. Classrooms incorporating ProStart’s two - year curriculum qualify for the beef grant program. Additional culinary - based programs, science classes or home economics classes, etc. may qualify as well. An application, accompanied by a description of your beef education curriculum/activities in your classroom, must be submitted to be considered for the beef grant money.

If Approved, some information you may need to know below:

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT REIMBURSEMENT RECEIPTS/FINAL PAPERWORK: Friday, May 29, 2026 

BEEF GRANT LIMIT: $1,000 

 These grants are available to purchase beef products to teach about various aspects of beef including but not limited to: beef cuts, beef cooking, beef safety and handling, nutrition, animal science, meat science, sustainability, ranching, etc. 

Beef purchases can be fresh or pre-cooked product. 

Funds can only be used in the classroom/food lab setting with the focus being on beef education. Funds cannot be used for school social events. (For Ag Day and other school function sponsorships, please contact us for limited opportunities for those types of events). 

Process: 

1. Purchase the beef, save your receipts. 

2. Submit Expense Reimbursement Form with receipts. 

3. New Mexico Beef Council will reimburse you in a timely manner. 

4. Receipts and paperwork can be submitted at any time before May 29, 2026. You can send in multiple receipts throughout the year so you do not have to wait until you spend the full $1,000.
