Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 romaine lettuce leaves
  • 8 slices sourdough bread, toasted
  • 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Directions

Combine Ground Beef, minced garlic, salt and pepper in large bowl, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Lightly shape into four 1/2-inch thick patties, shaping to fit bread slices.

Place patties on grid over medium ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, 8 to 10 minutes (over medium heat on preheated gas grill 7 to 9 minutes) until instant-read thermometer inserted horizontally into center registers 160°F, turning occasionally.

Place one lettuce leaf on four of the bread slices, top each with burger. Sprinkle evenly with Parmesan cheese; cover with remaining bread slices.

Cook's Tip: Cooking times are for fresh or thoroughly thawed Ground Beef. Color is not a reliable indicator of Ground Beef doneness.

Cook's Tip: If using 95% lean ground beef, combine ground beef with 1/4 cup soft bread crumbs, 1 egg white and ingredients as directed above.
